Ingredients
For the caesar salad
handful romaine lettuce leaves
small handful fresh flatleaf parsley
small handful fresh chives
small handful fresh mint
small handful fresh basil
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
½ lemon, juice only
150ml/5fl oz double cream
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
For the balsamic glazed steak
dash olive oil
125g/4½oz sirloin steak, sliced
½ red chilli, sliced
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp clear honey
1 tsp black peppercorns, crushed
Method
1. For the caesar salad, place the romaine lettuce and herbs into a medium-sized bowl and mix together.
2. Place the olive oil, lemon juice, cream, salt and freshly ground black pepper into a clean bowl and whisk together. Then pour the mixture over the salad leaves and mix together to coat well.
3. For the steak, heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the steak and stir-fry for two minutes. Then add the chilli, balsamic vinegar, clear honey and crushed black peppercorns and stir fry for two more minutes.
4. To serve, place the dressed salad in a clean serving bowl and arrange the steak on top.
