Ingredients
For the beef tataki
150g/5½oz beef fillet
salt and freshly ground black pepper
olive oil, for drizzling
For the steamed broccoli
small handful Tenderstem broccoli
olive oil, for drizzling
salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the ponzu-style sauce
½ lemon, juice only
pinch chilli flakes
2 tbsp soy sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper
Method
1. For the beef tataki, season the beef fillet with salt and freshly ground black pepper and drizzle with olive oil.
2. Heat a frying pan until smoking hot and sear the beef for 1-2 minutes on both sides. Remove from the heat and leave to rest for five minutes, before slicing thinly.
3. For the steamed broccoli, place the broccoli in a steamer over a pan of boiling water and steam for four minutes, or until just tender. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
4. For the ponzu-style sauce, place the lemon juice, chilli flakes, soy sauce, salt and freshly ground black pepper into a small bowl and whisk to combine.
5. To serve, place the sliced beef and broccoli onto a serving plate and pour over the ponzu sauce.
