Ingredients
½ beef rump steak, cut into strips
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
dash of Worcestershire sauce
1-2 tbsp honey
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp vegetable or groundnut oil, for frying
For the salad
½ small red cabbage, shredded
½ onion, peeled and shredded
few broccoli florets, shredded
splash of soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp sesame seeds
drizzle of sesame oil
handful of fresh coriander, chopped
Method
1. Thread the beef strips onto wooden skewers.
2. Mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, Worcestershire sauce, honey and seasoning in a dish to combine. Add the beef skewers and allow to marinate for 10 minutes.
3. Heat the vegetable or groundnut oil in a frying pan and fry the skewers for a few minutes on each side or until cooked through.
4. For the salad, mix the cabbage, onion and broccoli in a bowl. Add the soy sauce, honey, sesame seeds, sesame oil and coriander and toss together to coat.
5. Spoon the salad onto a plate and place the skewers on top. Serve at once.
