Ingredients
3 free-range eggs
100ml/3½fl oz whole milk
4 slices ready-made Madeira cake
25g/1oz unsalted butter
50ml/2fl oz clear honey, to drizzle
Method
1. Place the eggs and milk into a bowl and mix well.
2. Dip the cake slices into the egg mixture to coat, shaking off any excess.
3. Heat the butter in a frying pan and fry the cake slices for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden-brown.
4. To serve, place the French 'toast' onto plates and drizzle with honey.
