Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
½ red onion, sliced
1 garlic clove, chopped
150g/5½oz tinned tomatoes, chopped
½ tsp dried chilli flakes
150g/5½oz penne pasta, cooked according to packet instructions
Method
1. Place a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the olive oil, red onion and garlic and cook for five minutes, until the onion has softened.
2. Add the tomatoes and chilli flakes and continue to cook for five more minutes.
3. To serve, place the pasta in a bowl and pour over the tomato sauce.
