Ingredients
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, grated
1 small courgette, grated
350g/12oz turkey mince
splash of Worcestershire sauce
100g/4oz mozzarella
flour for dusting
vegetable oil, for brushing
To serve:
toasted round pittas
lettuce leaves
sliced tomatoes
tomato ketchup
jacket potatoes or chunky oven chips
Method
1. Preheat the grill to medium. Put the onion, carrot and courgette into a bowl with the turkey mince and stir in a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and season.
2. Using floured hands, divide the turkey into four portions. Cut the cheese into four equal pieces and press a piece into the centre of each turkey portion. Mould the mixture around the cheese and shape into burgers.
3. Brush with oil and cook under a medium grill for 8-10 minutes, turning once. Put in split toasted pittas filled with salad and serve with ketchup and oven chips or jacket potatoes.
