Ingredients
1 x 400ml/14fl oz can of beef consommé
1 ready-cooked chicken breast, finely chopped
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 free-range egg, beaten
5 cm/2in circle of ready-made puff pastry
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.
2. Heat the consommé in a saucepan until boiling, then turn the heat down and add the chicken and parsley. Simmer for two minutes to heat through
3. Pour the consummé mixture into a deep ovenproof bowl with a 5cm/2in diameter. Brush the lip of the bowl with the egg and then top with the pastry, making sure to smooth the pastry down.
4. Brush the pastry with the egg and place into the oven to bake for eight minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
5. Serve in the bowl.
